HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE DISPOSAL

Household hazardous wastes will be collected from Lake County residents Friday & Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Most items are accepted free. Businesses must make an appointment and will be charged.

*Maximum of 15 gallons per vehicle based on container size. More by appointment.

*Propane tanks (any compressed clyinders): Maximum 5 gallons.

In case of severe weather, please call the Public Service office 263-1980 or 998-5888 to confirm the event.

ITEMS ACCEPTED:

Paints, solvents, gasoline, pesticides, herbicides, pool chemicals, household batteries, acids, corrosives, antifreeze, toxic cleaners, fluorescent light tubes, bleaches and dyes, photography chemicals, artist supplies, propane tanks (any compressed gas cylinders) of 5 gallons and smaller, aerosol cans, prescriptions, beauty supplies, mercury thermometers, hearing aids, used oil and oil filters.

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED:

Copy machines, large inline printers, explosives, ammunition, compressed gas cylinders larger than 5 gallons, medical waste, and radioactive materials. Televisions and computer monitors (2 maximum) are accepted at no charge at Timberline Recycling in Lakeport and South Lake Recycling at the Eastlake Landfill.

The Hazmobile is a mobile household hazardous waste (HHW) colection program that serves Lake County.
Hazmobile events are free to residential customers. There is a 15 gallon limit per vehicle per day or a charge will apply. The Hazmobile provides service to commercial customers for a fee.
